24C24 camera family enhances our industrial board camera range

We are happy to announce the addition of 24C24 camera family to our board level cameras. This new camera family consists of 24C24XW and 24C24XW-USB3-UVC series and is now available for immediate orders.

24C24XW Overview

The 24C24XW camera combines 1080p Full HD resolution, a small form factor, WDR and digital/analog output options on a single board. The 2.1 MP camera has a compact board design with dimensions of 26mm x 22mm x 6.0mm (1” x 0.86” x 0.24”) without the lens mount.

24c24x_1080p Mini CMOS Color Camera24C24XW has a 1/2.7” (∼6.6mm) PixelPlus image sensor paired with an advanced onboard image sensor processor. The camera has a good signal-to-noise ratio of 44.9 dB and <0.5 lux low-light sensitivity. The 120db dynamic range of this industrial board camera helps overcome challenges posed by high-contrast lighting conditions when very bright and dark areas are in the same frame.

As for the video output interfaces, this mini Full HD camera supports 4-lane MIPI or BT.1120 digital output, both at 1080p. 24C24XW also supports AHD or TVI analog output format of 1920x1080, exceeding HD signal transmission distances of 500m (1600ft) without disruption.

The digital aspect ratio of the camera is 16:9 at 30fps/25fps. With its support for different lens mount options (pinhole, M-12, and CS), users have the flexibility to choose from a wide range of compatible lenses.

Use Cases

The dynamic range of 120db found in both the 24C24XW and 24C24XW-USB3-UVC cameras allows for optimal performance in environments where lighting conditions are unpredictable and constantly changing. WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) feature is a crucial specification for a wide range of applications, from accurately identifying individuals or reading vehicle license plates to capturing details even in challenging high-contrast lighting scenarios.

Cameras equipped with robust WDR capabilities, like those in the 24C24XW family, excel at bringing out the nuances in both the darkest shadows and the brightest highlights within a scene. This makes them the perfect choice for a variety of settings such as building entrances, ATM locations, transportation hubs, and areas near windows where lighting conditions can vary significantly.

The advanced WDR integrated into these cameras ensures that no detail goes unnoticed, providing crystal-clear images that are essential for security, surveillance, and monitoring purposes. The ability to effectively handle high-contrast lighting situations makes the 24C24XW and 24C24XW-USB3-UVC cameras indispensable tools for capturing accurate and reliable footage in any environment.
