Key Facts About SCAiLX
The SCAiLX Edge AI modular platform is based on the NXP i.MX 8M Plus processor with a board size of 42x42 mm. This universal SoM board can connect to various add-on boards for multiple types of connectivity or sensors.
- All SCAiLX platform interface boards have the same size of 42x42 mm (1.65x1.65")
- The SCAiLX-SOM-AI board can be connected to:
- A Videology Board Level camera board
- A Videology Zoom Block Camera w/LVDS output
- A 2 MP Tamron block camera w/LVDS output
- A 2 MP Sony block camera w/LVDS output
- The SCAiLX platform can be powered with PoE or 12V DC
SCAiLX Board Level Cameras
Featuring a 2 MP global shutter and a 1/2.6” Onsemi sensor, the SCAiLX board level camera is equipped with an onboard Image Signal Processor (ISP). As the first camera designed for the SCAiLX platform, the SCAiLX-2GS234 is available in both monochrome and color versions.
With a resolution of 1920x1200 at 60 fps, this camera delivers Full HD video and images. Its native MIPI video output interface seamlessly integrates with the SCAiLX platform, providing high-quality video for direct AI processing.

SCAiLX and Zoom Block Cameras
Launched in 2022, SCAiLX-ZB was a first-to-market zoom block camera with embedded Edge AI. As a response to market feedback, we have further expanded the functionality of the SCAiLX platform to include all 2 MP LVDS block cameras from Sony and Tamron as well.
A typical SCAILX and zoom block camera assembly would combine:
- 2 MP LVDS block camera (Videology, Sony, or Tamron)
- SCAiLX SoM processor board (SCAILX-SOM-AI)
- SCAiLX adapter board (SCAILX-LVDS-2-MIPI)
- SCAiLX Ethernet PoE or DC power adapter board (SCAILX-ETH-POE / SCAILX-ETH-DC)

Dual Camera Capture for AI-Powered Stereo Vision
The SCAilX SoM processor board is engineered for advanced dual camera streaming, supporting up to 1080p at 60 frames per second. Equipped with two identical MIPI CSI-2 camera ports, the SCAilX-SOM-AI board becomes compatible with 2x SCAILX-2GS234-xY camera modules. Enabling depth perception and distance recognition.
Alternatively, each stream can be configured to have different settings (resolution and frame rates) based on different use cases.
