Videology 201-IP-462 Camera Achieves ONVIF Profile S Conformance

Written by Derya Yoruk | Jan 27, 2026

We are happy to announce that our 201-IP-462 IP camera has achieved ONVIF Profile S conformance. This status is officially validated through the ONVIF Declaration of Conformance and confirms compliance with the applicable ONVIF specifications for the approved firmware version.

The 201-IP-462 completed testing using the ONVIF Device Test Tool version 25.06 (revision 93), with zero failed test cases, and was approved under firmware version v5.0.5 (build b764ceb48) on December 18, 2025.

This confirmation establishes the camera as an ONVIF-conformant device for the specified firmware version.

Verified ONVIF Profile S Conformance

ONVIF conformance confirms that a device meets the mandatory and applicable conditional requirements defined in the ONVIF specifications for a given profile. For the 201-IP-462, conformance applies specifically to:

  • ONVIF Profile S

  • Application Type: Device (Fixed Camera)

  • Firmware Version: v5.0.5 (build b764ceb48)

Conformance is firmware-specific and remains valid indefinitely for the approved version. Systems deployed with different firmware versions must be evaluated separately to confirm continued conformance.

Profile S Capabilities and Interoperability

ONVIF Profile S is widely used in IP-based video systems and enables standardized interoperability for essential device functionality, including:

  • IP video streaming

  • Media configuration and profile management

  • Device discovery and identification

  • PTZ control support (where applicable)

The 201-IP-462 supports Profile S PTZ features, as verified during ONVIF testing, while not implementing audio or I/O interfaces, consistent with its fixed-camera design.

By conforming to Profile S, 201-IP-462 camera can be integrated into ONVIF-compliant video management systems (VMS) using standardized APIs, reducing custom integration effort and improving deployment predictability.

What This Means for System Integrators and OEMs

Official ONVIF conformance provides tangible value throughout the system lifecycle:

  • Verified standards compliance, backed by ONVIF test tools and documentation

  • Lower integration risk with ONVIF-compliant VMS platforms

  • Clear firmware traceability, ensuring predictable behavior in deployed systems

  • Transparent conformance claims, aligned with ONVIF brand and trademark policies

While some products may implement portions of ONVIF specifications, only products that complete the full ONVIF Conformance Process may claim official conformance. Videology adheres strictly to these requirements to ensure accuracy and trust.

Commitment to Standards, Engineering Discipline and Lifecycle Support

Customers and partners are encouraged to verify the firmware version currently deployed on their 201-IP-462 cameras to ensure alignment with the ONVIF-conformant release. For systems not yet running firmware version v5.0.5, upgrading to this approved version is recommended to benefit from verified Profile S conformance. (Firmware download is available here.)
